In 1971, while I was in college working toward my degree, I got the very fortunate opportunity to go to work for The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, and work in their architectural dept. As I continued my business degree pursuit, I began what turned out to be the "best"

education I could ever have hoped for considering my goal was to one day run my own business as a design-build contractor. In 1985, with those 7 years and 7 more at B&B Contractors & Developers Inc. under my belt, I started William J Garrett & Assoc., Inc. Today in 2015
the company is still thriving as my son, William IV, takes the reigns.

Our company these days is doing business as ....Garrett Builders.... while maintaining our original corporate entity name. My expertise, still integral to the business operation, is on the drawing board and as a master estimator. I have been hired by local architects to put together multi-million dollar project budget estimates for clients to take to their banks for financing, and this is all done from simply a conceptual floor plan & elevation. This expertise will work for you as well. Our residential design-build service is a homeowners dream. During the drawing process, owners learn the ins & outs, the do's & don'ts, of building right before their eyes, and before they are under construction.... when it may be too late.

 

We have expertise in ADA specially adapted housing & barrier-free design.  And I personally take great pride in being able to boast, due to my 2 employers, that we can build nearly anything.  New homes, additions and remodel; pre-eng steel buildings and garages; office buildings, kitchens and baths...

William J Garrett, IV, currently vice-president of the company, has brought his own insight & intuitiveness to the business. As we go into a new 30 year span, Will has added the pre-engineered steel building business and residential solar panels to our repertoire.

​

His vision today & of tomorrow drives him to want to be ready and able to provide the needs of his generation. Steel buildings are in general, much less expensive than conventional commercial buildings to construct. The capability & availability of a clear span design is very enticing to many who want no interior obstacles to deal with.

Will can simply sell you a steel building, or have it erected as well. He can oversee an entire project for you, or do a turn-key contract.  

 

As energy costs keep rising and increasing all our utility bills, solar will be a way to help combat, and even reduce, that burden. Will has bought in-to the concept and can now show a homeowner or business what solar panels can do the their pocketbook. Amazing!
